Clarinetist Kristina Teuschler is a first-generation American; the child of Jamaican and Brazilian immigrants. She is passionate about making the classical music world more reflective of the mixed American culture. Kristina grew up in Madison, Wisconsin, earned her Bachelor's Degree from Northwestern University and her Master's Degree from Manhattan School of Music. She is an active freelance musician, educator and administrator in New York City, working in a variety of genres from orchestral to contemporary, klezmer to collaborations with indie bands. She received Orchestra of St. Luke's first ever Community Liaison Fellowship and worked within their Education and Community Department from 2017 to 2018.
